NAIROBI, KENYA (August 26, 2026): HassConsult Real Estate officially broke ground today on Enaki Forestside, the next phase of Enaki Town, Africa’s first residential resort, located off Red Hill Road in Nyari, inside Nairobi’s UN Blue Zone.

More than half the units were already sold before the shovel hit the ground.

The new phase adds a private 23,000 sq ft Anko Forest, forest-facing co-working café, private events garden, elevated canopy walkways, outdoor ponds, putting green and gazebos, all open to every Enaki resident. Residences (1–4 bedroom apartments and duplexes) start from KSh 18.6 million, with completion targeted for Q4 2028.

This exclusive coverage, including the direct interview with Co-CEO Farhana Hassanali, is original reporting by The 254 Report.

What Was Announced on Stage

Sakina Hassanali, Co-CEO and Creative Director, opened with Elevate by Hass, the residents-only lifestyle hub delivering fitness, wellness, dining and community programming. An internal survey already shows more than 250 children have formed new friendships through Elevate events.

Farhana Hassanali, Co-CEO and Development Director, detailed the physical programme and restated HassConsult’s long-term management model: the company stays after handover, running reception, landscaping and resident experience because resident happiness protects long-term property value.

The Exclusive: What Enaki Actually Means

On the sidelines of the groundbreaking, The 254 Report spoke directly with Farhana Hassanali.

Why the name Enaki?

Farhana Hassanali: “Enaki” was a coined name built from two words: “Enso,” the Japanese Zen symbol (the single-stroke circle of harmony and the circle of life), and “Koiyaki,” described by HassConsult as a Maasai name meaning “one of good heart.” She said the name reflected the project’s original concept, that it wasn’t designed for one age group or buyer profile, but as a “full circle” community meant to serve everyone.

Who is financing Forestside and was the land bought outright?

Forestside is financed through HassConsult’s standard hybrid model, combining equity, off-plan sales and other capital structures. The land itself was secured through a joint venture with the family that originally owned it, rather than an outright purchase. In exchange for zoning approval, HassConsult committed to providing generous green space, including a six-acre botanical garden annexed to the development.

Is Forestside targeting the same buyers as Phase One?

In an expanded way, yes. Forestside introduces two distinct tracks: an “investment collection” aimed at buy-to-rent investors, and a “living collection” aimed at owner-occupiers who want to live on the property themselves.

What made HassConsult confident to break ground now?

She described HassConsult’s posture as proactive rather than reactive, saying the company prefers to anticipate where the market is heading and build toward that, rather than wait for government infrastructure to arrive first.
