The Blockchain Centre in Kilimani spent Saturday running as two things at once: a factory floor and a payments testbed. RedotsClub Kenya joined RedotPay's third-anniversary celebrations with the Factory Simulator Experience, a competition in which teams built paper factories, bought their materials on a live trading floor through the RedotPay app, and found out which of their designs could survive a quality check.

Nairobi, Kenya - 10 October 2026 - RedotsClub Kenya, the local chapter of RedotPay's global community programme, marked three years of RedotPay at the Blockchain Centre in Kilimani. The centrepiece was a physical demonstration of a digital proposition: that a dollar on a blockchain can move through Nairobi as freely as cash, faster than a bank transfer and without asking a border for permission.

Key points

  • Event: RedotPay's third anniversary, marked in Nairobi with the Factory Simulator Experience.

  • Date: Saturday, 10 October 2026, midday to 6pm.

  • Venue: Blockchain Centre NBO, Kilimani, Nairobi.

  • Host: RedotsClub Kenya, with support from FOEG Labs.

  • Format: Teams ran paper factories on simulated USDC balances, buying materials on a live trading floor through the RedotPay app.

  • Outcome: The highest-profit team took partner giveaways; standout participants may be shortlisted as RedotPay product testers.

What is RedotsClub Kenya?

RedotsClub is RedotPay's global community of adoption champions: developers, product designers and creators who test fintech products in their local markets before global rollouts. The network says it has run more than 50 events across countries and operates a residency programme where selected members live and build together in one city.

The Kenyan chapter launched in August 2026 with a community meet-up focused on real-world payment utility and tap-to-pay. This month's anniversary event, supported by FOEG Labs, brought the community to the Blockchain Centre NBO.

How the Factory Simulator worked

  • Each team started with a simulated balance in USDC. No real money moved at any point in the event.

  • One representative per team, effectively a project manager, bought materials on the live floor and negotiated pricing.

  • Designs had to be built to specification, then submitted for quality checks.

  • Accepted designs were pout; rejected ones were scrapped.

  • The team with the most profit at close of day won partner giveaways and merchandise.

Purchases on the floor were made in USDC throh the RedotPay app. All balances, payments and results were simulated for the competition.

What RedotPay is actually selling

RedotPay is built out of Hong Kong on a simple thesis: digital dollars should spend like any other money. The core product is a card, virtual or physical, that lets holders tap stablecoins at merchants worldwide, the company says more than 130 million of them. In Kenya and Tanzania, the app has run instant crypto QR payments at merchant tills since August 2026. New users who sign up through this link receive a $5 welcome bonus.

The company-cited figures: more than nine million users, roughly $12 billion in annualised payment volume, and presence in over 100 countries. It raised a $107 million Series B in December 2025, bringing total disclosed funding to $194 million, with investors including HSG, Pantera Capital and Goodwater Capital.

The safety talk nobody skipped

The fine print is blunt: crypto prices move, there is no safety net if a token collapses, and nobody promises returns. The simulator made the same point structurally. Every balance on the floor was play money, so a bad call cost a team the competition rather than their rent.

Behind the game sits a real shift. Kenya and Tanzania have had instant crypto QR payments at merchant tills through the RedotPay app since August 2026, and the company says it clears more than $12 billion a year across 130 million merchants. The Factory Simulator was a room full of people rehearsing that flow before trusting it with anything real.

What happens next

RedotsClub Kenya is not winding down after Saturday. Top performers from Saturday are being shortlisted as RedotPay testers and connected to opportunities, with affiliate roles on the table, and FOEG Labs has called for developers, designers and creators to keep shaping what launches next in Nairobi. Entry to the next Factory Simulator requires a RedotPay User ID. Create yours through this link and you start with a $5 welcome bonus.
